Color Jamz Tripped up Turquoise |
-Dye in the colors you want, I used Beyond the Zone Color Jamz in Tripped Up Turquoise and Purple Passion which is available at any Sallys
-A color applicator brush and bowl
-You can also do a clear dye over your color to help it from fading, also available at Sally's Cairol Jazzing in Clear
Depending on how much and where you're coloring, separate your hair so you can work with the part you want to be tie-dyed, you can use clips or whatever to hold your hair up and there are products you can put on any near by roots you don't want colored in case you mess up a little. I used a little bit of tissue bobby pinned to my roots to keep away unwanted color

Once you have your colors in, just follow the instructions on the bottle while it processes. My hair was very blonde when I did this so the colors were really vivid. If you have dark hair, I'd recommend lightening where you want your colors so they don't look murky or amateur.
Tips!
If you're doing streaks or an underlayer like I did, be very careful when washing it out. I left my hair up so the color didn't wash out into the hair I wanted to leave blonde.
Finish with the clear glaze to hold color longer and keep it vivid!
If you're doing a small streak, you can run a straightener over it while the color is in, I'm not a professional by any means but I can say I've done it before and it didn't ruin my hair in any way. The heat from the straightener helps to seal and process the color and it's easier that way if you want to pin point only where you're coloring.
